"ELCIE" is the culmination of an experienced owner’s dream, a masterful designer’s vision and a talented shipyard’s execution. She was designed to be light and fast with the advantages of a split rig and shallow draft. Q-West Shipyard of Whanganui, New Zealand was selected for the construction because of their expertise in building with SEALIUM (5383 H112) alloy and for their track record of producing rugged, high-speed, alloy watercraft. The DVD62, “ELCIE” by renowned naval architect David de Villiers, was designed to be a fast and able passagemaker and she has proven to be just that. With over 50,000 miles under her keel in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, she is ready for her next adventure. The construction details of "ELCIE" are worth studying and basic plans are available upon request. "ELCIE" has been granted a waiver from the USCG allowing her to take up to 6 passengers for hire and is eligible for carrying 12 passengers after USCG inspection . This waiver allows her to generate charter income which make her earning capabilities as unique as her design.
