Preliminary Specifications

In line with the classic 36 Picnic Boat, this Bruce King designed Talaria 40 is considered by most to be the finest of the range.  She was created after the introduction of the 36 and 44 and found an immediate niche in the market.  She has amenities for more than a weekend while remaining nimble enough for confident piloting in close quarters.
Proportionally, the 40's are exactly right.  The height of her house matches the spring in her sheer perfectly. The designer was able to magically keep her good looks while providing a surprising amount of hull volume - resulting in a very livable interior.  A proper galley and head with a true shower mean that cruising is certainly not camping.  On deck, DAKOTA has the full teak package and a custom SureShade retractable awning.
DAKOTA is a superb example of a Talaria 40 and she boasts many of the features found on the newer models such as a Seakeeper, SureShade, new electronics, and a complete jet stick upgrade.  With her classic looks & the latest components,  DAKOTA is the best of both worlds.  Highly Recommended.

Highlights Include:
  • Seakeeper
  • Upgraded Electronics
  • Upgraded Jet Stick System
  • SureShade
  • New Canvas
  • Recent Hull Paint

Vessel Overview:

DAKOTA is a single owner Hinckley Talaria 40 that has been lovingly cared for by highly experienced owners. She has been professionally maintained with an open checkbook and it shows.  Her maintenance records are comprehensive and she is up to date from her jet zincs to the varnish on her flagstaff.  DAKOTA is far from a "dock queen" that sits with engines waiting to be run.  She is well-loved and consequently, splits her time between Fort Lauderdale and Annapolis.  Her size makes her easy to truck and future owners who follow the seasons will benefit from the ability to own a single boat that can do it all everywhere.  If the iconic lines of the original 36' Picnic boat pull at your heartstrings yet its petite size leaves you wanting more,  DAKOTA is your answer.
