Vessel Overview:
Introducing "Rascal", a beautiful black Dyer Trunk Cabin 29 hull built in 1992 by The Anchorage in Warren, RI and finished by the legendary Petrini Shipyard in Annapolis, MD. She has always been used on the Chesapeake Bay.Powered by a Cummins 6BT5.9 diesel engine that produces 250 hp. she has been lightly, but properly used by the current owners for the last 21 years. Engine hours are 1850.Recent additions and refits include: Complete cockpit refresh including structure below deck and teak decking (2018); new fuel and water tanks (2018); bead blasted bottom with new barrier coat and bottom paint (2016); followed by new bottom paint every other season. She has a complete winter canvas cover; plus a spare (brand new) Toast Sunbrella bimini top; an AFT Bimini for great cockpit shade; a propane grill; spare primary and secondary fuel filters; a log book and maintenance records.Forward in the cabin is access to the anchor locker; followed by a v-berth with quality cushions plus a filler. Locker with mini shelf and a marine stereo. Aft to port is a galley with a stainless steel sink; a deep ice box; and storage for cutlery, plates and cups. To starboard is an enclosed marine head with a manual toilet. The cockpit has the helm area to starboard and a companion seat to port. The helm consists of a stainless steel "destroyer" wheel with leather covering; Morse engine controls; Cummins engine panel with gauges, Ritchie compass and a Simrad marine chartplotter. The cockpit has many storage lockers; hawse pipes with large cleats aft; midship deck cleats; and the teak deck, custom built by local woodworking legend Alan Cady. Bright work has been continually kept up by another Annapolis craftsman - Glen Roy Phillips. There are quality stainless steel hand rails strategically placed for safety, notably at the corners of the windshield; a stainless steel bow rail system; and an Ideal electric windlass (needs service). There are dual 12 volt marine batteries with a battery selector switch and a True Charge brand 20 amp battery charger. All in all, Rascal is a very nice example of the classic Dyer 29.
