Manufacturer Provided Description Shorthanded sailing is easy in this modern Hallberg-Rassey cruiser. It is both high-pointing and fast, but also seakindly. It is a boat made to go around the world or cruise local waters. There is space for all the modern comfort aids. Hull and deck are GRP, built under supervision of Lloyd's Register of Shipping. A Lloyd's certificate is supplied with each boat. The hull is insulated above the water line. Deck is GRP sandwich construction, 35mm for strength and insulation. The lead keel is attached with stainless steel bolts. The mast is stepped on a base on the cabintop directly over a reinforced bulk head. Cockpit protected by permanent windscreens in tempered glass in light alloy frames. The middle pane opens. Sprayhood in synthetic material with aluminum frames. Hardtop is available as an option. Handrails, companionway, hatch guides, sole and seats in cockpit are all in solid Bangkok teak. The cabin is done in selected mahogany, hand-rubbed and treated to a silk smooth finish. The seagoing galley so arranged that one can work safely even in heavy seas, and has deep, double sinks and a well-insulated icebox.

Vessel OverviewStarting forward is an anchor locker with large deck access and a dividing shelf. A watertight bulkhead separates the chain locker from the forward cabin. Forward is a v-berth cabin. The forward head/shower compartment has a china sink, wipe down surfaces, separate shower, and teak grating. Aft to port is a guest stateroom with bunks and storage lockers. Aft of the main bulkhead is a large salon with "L" shaped dinette to port, a drop leaf table, and two easy chairs to starboard. A "U" shaped galley is to starboard of the companionway ladder with counters and ample storage. To port is a large, forward facing navigation station. There is a true walk through passageway to the aft cabin The interior of SOLANA V is finished in satin varnish African mahogany a teak and holly sole. The locker doors are of solid mahogany and louvered for ventilation. Ventilation is provided by five dorade vents, opening ports in coachroof sides and opening overhead hatches. Extensive overhead and reading lights combine with beige curtains, carpet and cushions upholstered in rich fabric with accents to provide a warm and inviting interior.    Headroom below is 6'-3".

This (Hallberg- Rassey for sale) hull is white gel coat with off white coach roof and blue sheer, boot, and coaming stripes. There are SS rub strips at cleats and lifeline gates and SS strakes on the rub rail. The keel is an external lead casting bolted to a sloped fiberglass keel stub. The hull and deck are insulated with closed cell foam. The decks and coachroof are overlaid with high quality Burmese teak with a caprail on raised bulwark and teak handrails on the coach roof. The cockpit is protected by a factory installed hard dodger with tempered glass. Varnished companionway chart tables are located on each side of the companionway. On deck stowage is in three large lockers. Forward is a top opening chain locker with shelf and room for fenders, lines and other gear. The cockpit locker is below the starboard seat. There is a very large full beam locker located at the stern accessed by two deck hatches. All lockers drain overboard.

Large stainless steel stanchions are mounted on the raised bulwark to maximize deck space and minimize deck penetrations.  SOLANA V has solid stainless steel hand rails run from the stern pushpit to the midships boarding gates.  Hinged solar panels mount on these rails.  Uncoated wire rope, double lifelines run forward from the mid-ship gates to the bow pulpit.  Oversized aluminum mooring cleats are aft, forward and amidships.  A folding stainless steel swim ladder is mounted on the stern swim step and can be deployed from the water for safety and sturdy enough to climb with dive gear.
