VICEM WINDSOR CRAFT 36 HARDTOP
The Windsor Craft 36 built by (Vicem Yachts) is more than a luxury boat, its a work of art. This is truly a magnificent boat from bow to stern and even though the fit and finish topside is impressive, the below deck space will give you the feeling of being in a classic wooden cruising yacht. Below, you are wrapped in rich mahogany joiner work with attention to every detail. The overhead is made of wood planks painted with while Awlgrip which looks like lacquer, and mahogany strips run athwartship, again drawing upon the classic interior decor of the yachts of yesteryear. The hull is over an inch thick and utilizes choice mahogany planking in opposing directions to provide strength as well as function. The triple planked African mahogany uses the West System of epoxy impregnation. The result is a hull that is as impervious to water migration as is fiberglass and needs no more upkeep. On the forward deck and aft deck the (Windsor Craft 36) has beautiful mahogany with dozens of coats of varnish. All that is needed to keep this up is some touch up every six months or so. The side decks are Awlgrip. The (Vicem Windsor Craft) 36 requires no more maintenance than a fiberglass hull, but has all of the aesthetic advantages of wood. The settee forward will be your private dining car and personal space for enjoying your time aboard out of the eye of the public. The table and upholstery have the same detailed look and feel as that in the cockpit. A filler cushion is easily at hand should the occasion arise for a full-length bed. The head is on the starboard side and is a small version of what one might expect to find in an executive suite. All counter tops, both in the head and in the galley are granite. The (Windsor Craft 36) built by (Vicem) Yachts is built for yachtsmen – both power and sail – who want not only the very best in a day boat, but one with truly rare classic attributes along the modern appliances and technology. Highly Recommended. Helm Deck Air Less than 300 hours on the Volvo Diesels Onana 5 KW Generator.

Construction(Vicem Windsor Craft) are constructed from cold-molded mahogany. The process involves applying solid wood strips of veneer in three opposing layers over the mold, then saturating each layer using two-part West System epoxy. (Vicem) says that this results in hulls that are lighter, stronger and more durable than traditionally built fibreglass boats. Each hull is said to take 3,800 man-hours to build.
Engine AccessThe twin diesels are accessed though a hinged hatch that raises the aft portion of the L-shaped cockpit settee via a hydraulic ram. A ladder leads below and there is very good access all around the engines. Another hinged hatch forward in the cockpit sole provides excellent access to a large storage area as well as the fuel and water tanks, water heater, seawater strainers, batteries and the generous 5 kW Onan generator. The flooring throughout the cockpit/helm area is teak planking, which wisely is being left to weather naturally.
AccomodationsThe accommodation area forward features a teak and holly cabin sole, a bow berth, a linear galley area to port and the head/shower to starboard. The mahogany below is mostly satin finished with gloss trim, which works well considering the huge amounts of wood. Again, the woodwork is exquisite and the galley and head compartments are truly works of art. The berth can be configured as two singles or, with an infill cushion, it becomes almost palatial in size. This (Windsor Craft 36) sleeps 3 (2 below and 1 in the fully enclosable cockpit)The headliner in the accommodation area and the covered cockpit area are of off-white molded fiberglass that looks like tongue and groove planking. This is a real traditional touch from the days when overheads were planked and it adds even more of the classic look to this yacht. All doors are solid mahogany, another feature seldom seen today.
